Beloved Slave is a side quest in Torment: Tides of Numenera.
Synopsis[ | ]
Tol Maguur, a slaver in Circus Minor, has enlisted my help to find her 'ward,' a girl named Rhin. If I bring Rhin back to her, Tol says that she has valuable information to trade in return. Tol thinks that Rhin is hiding in the district of Cliff's Edge. She described Rhin as scrawny, with dark, curly hair. She also said that Rhin suffered a head wound and tends to babble about her gods.
Walkthrough[ | ]
- Head over to Cliff's Edge to find Rhin hidden in the building by the exit to the Caravanserai. Deal with the thugs. Now... Return to Maguur to figure out what to do.
- Rhin will stop you as you approach the platform, asking you to reconsider. You can reassure her that you plan on resolving things amicably, receiving a bit of the Golden tide. Talk to Maguur. She will ask you to hand Rhin over. If you refuse to do it and insist on talking, Maguur will place her curse on you (-3 to
Intellect pool) until you resolve the situation. - The best way to do is to interrogate her about the situation. As it turns out, Maguur has trouble controlling the Tides and Rhin is young enough to act as a receptacle without dying. Though Maguur is a slaver, she also cares about her public standing and loves Rhin. You can use Intellect (Persuasion) to convince her to let Rhin go.
- If successful, not only does she lift the curse and release Rhin, she will also teach you the Tidal Affinity skill, allowing you to use Tidal Surges to affect reality.
