Stirthal is the parallel incarnation of the city of Stirthal for the Whispering World.

Background[ | ]

At first glance, it may seem abandoned. Whispers had initially swarmed the streets once the populace was exposed. In the following months, most have wandered off the edges of the various cliffs and fell to their deaths within the Void Chasm. Thus, all the ancient structures, pipes, and platforms, as well as the many cliff dwellings remain empty. The place would make a great abode for any survivors if it weren't for what yet lurked within its lower portions.

A creature named Quanon lives down there. He may have once been a heavily-enhanced human, though that theory was always up for debate, even before the plague. The trigger phrase changed him, but not into another whisper. Instead of growing biometallic antennae, he instead fused with the many devices and odd objects from within his workshop, and became a massive entity of synth and steel towering at least 50 ft. high.

Quanon still retains some of his former self-awareness, but only for brief periods. During such precious, lucid periods, her will attempt to make sure that he remains restrained and can never leave the workshop. The rest of the time, however, he acts like a large and dangerously-loud whisper. during his whisper state, he can bellow a trigger phrase so loudly, it can be heard echoing for miles. More worrisome is his ability to transmit the trigger phrase through an invisible channel, so that seemingly random devices dozens of miles away will sometimes buzz and speak those words.[1]
