Ghru articulated temple plan

Ghru Articulated Temples are mobile places of worship piloted by the Ghru. They wander across the surface of the planet Naharrai.

Background

Beyond the holy city of Mehbivrobek, ghru temples move about. Within each temple is housed a metal vehicle that moves like an enormous, bulbous insect. These articulated temples can be spotted all around ghru territory, but usually only one in any given region or town at a time. Some might need repair or maintenance if a leg or if something else were to malfunction. However, most of the temples operate in good fashion. The priests aboard do what they can in order to maintain them, but skills, tools, and materials aren't always at their disposal.

Whenever a temple stops in some location, the acolytes within well set up welcoming area around the craft for supplicants. This area will include woven rugs, candelabras, braziers, and even a few sculptures that are important to meditation. When its time for the temple to move again, or in event of dangerous weather, all materials are able to be safely packed away and stored at great speed.[1]

Entrance

Those who pass through the doors of a temple, whenever stationary, will be greeted by images of the Great Old Ones painted along the interior walls. Strange and abstract, the images appear more like swirling vortices in the void rather than people or creatures. Atonal piping music will also play throughout the area at all times.[2]

Sacristy

This chamber is a storage area for priestly vestments, candles, as well as any other religious paraphernalia, including all the materials that would be set up outside the temple walls when not set in motion.[3]

Sanctuary

In this chamber, the priests will conduct their rites before an altar dedicated to their deities, the Great Old Ones.[4]

Command Room

This chamber is where the priests control the temple. From this area, they can open and close the main doors (as well as lock them), operate the temple's movement, and even cause the legs to attack any nearby enemies.[5]

Engine Room

This chamber simply serves as an access port for any needed maintenance on the vehicle.[6]

Rectory

This chamber is where the ghru priests would rest. In general, a temple will consist of 2 priests and occasionally an additional 3 acolytes that sleep within the sacristy.[7]

Miscellaneous

The walls of an articulated temple are made from a level 7 metal.[8]
